‘Enjoy The Ride’ was the only single form the 6th studio album by Morcheeba. It is a song about accepting who you are and where you are in life, and being able to enjoy it more. The band enjoyed two top 10 albums but split in between their fourth and fifth albums, with singer Skye Edwards never to return. ‘Enjoy The Ride’ Features the vocals of Judie Tzuke, made famous by the song ‘Stay With Me Till Dawn’ which reached number 16 in the UK singles chart in 1979. Morcheeba’s Fifth and Sixth studio albums are being re-released this July digitally.
Woody Guthrie sadly is no longer with us, but like all great musicians his music will live long in the memory. Out Now, is a tribute CD Recorded live at the Kennedy Center in Washington on October 14th 2012 to mark what would have been Guthrie’s 100th birthday. It is full of material written and recorded by Woody, but was unreleased and has remained so, played by a wide range of artists. This guy was truly a legend, and here is perhaps his most iconic song, ‘This Land Is Your Land’, enjoy…
‘Woody Guthrie at 100’ is out this week.
The Boss is back this summer with another whirlwind UK tour, with dates up and down the country. His epic shows are punctuated my moments of pure musical class and genius, delivered by himself and the ever faithful E-Street band. This video today is the first ever Springsteen song and is unmistakably one of his best. Although i didn’t necessarily realise or appreciate the absurd amount of patriotism in this song when i was younger, it at least gave me an opportunity to enjoy The Boss.
The Indie outfit known as Ben Folds Five released their latest studio album last winter, and so embarked on a UK tour, hitting up O2 Academy venues up and down the country. As any fan will tell you, they are best seen live, and Ben Folds’ musical genius really shines. This video showcases all three members musical prowess and could be enough to get you hooked on some North American Indie. Ben Folds Five ‘Live’ is out this week.
Sixto Rodriguez was lost to the world not so long ago. Amid stories of his own suicide on stage during a world tour, he disappeared and left his musical career behind him. Until of course, a couple of South Africans decided to find out what happened to him. The story is a truly moving one, and documented in ‘Searching for Sugarman’, but more importantly, Rodriguez will be playing Festival dates along with his own sold out UK dates this summer. Here is Rodriguez with ‘Sugarman’ taken from ‘Later…with Jools Holland’, enjoy…
In the last week or so, it’s been announced that The Clash will be releasing their entire known catalogue in one EPIC package. ‘Sound System’ will feature all of The Clash’s Albums, Singles, Live performances and B-sides. On top of this, will be exclusive artwork, posters, DVD, memorabilia and even re-pressed copies of the Armagideon Times. If this doesn’t make a Clash fan weak at the knees I’m not sure anything will. Coming this September 9th, get ready for some incredible music from the one and only The Clash!
Sometimes there is nothing better than listening to the Great Rock n’ Roll from the 70’s and 80’s. And it’s hard to think about this period and not remember the fantastic Debut Album from Boston. Perhaps most famous for More Than A Feeling, this album also produced some other amazing tracks, like Smokin’. Originally released as the B-Side to More Than A Feeling, this song has become a staple on classic rock radio, and even made an appearance on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on the fictional radio station K-DST. This video is from a live performance in 2008, a year after the untimely death of front-man Brad Delp. Boston show they are still rocking on in the memory of a Rock Hero.
